UPMC - Braille reading test: a touch sensitive skin was installed on the index finger of the DLR robot-hand. The robot was instructed to run the finger along a bar where the word "SENSOPAC" was encoded in Braille. The skin output was processed by a computational model of the Cunaete nucleus in order to extract the Braille text features and discriminate between different alphabet letters.
